Kundcase N-line
May 16, 2023The tube is dead, long live the tube!
In Hestra, just south of Nexans factory in Grimsås, a new garage has taken shape and today electricians Daniel Johansson and Aron Fransson from Davids El are on site to do the electricity. This is a typical installation job with wall sockets and lighting on the agenda. What is unusual today is that they bring Nexans very latest innovation – N-Line, pre-wired installation cables in conduits.
Pre-wired cables in conduits are nothing new in the industry, nor for these installers "on new buildings and large builds, it's probably 90% of what we use".
The new packaging is carried into the garage from the service car and Daniel, who has worked as an electrician for 13 years, notes that it is easier to carry than when there is only plastic around the pipe. "It's nice to have handles and makes it easier to pack it back in the car. Usually when you have removed the plastic from the conduits, there is a magpie's nest left when you pack up your things. So when you go home, the car is better organised now, even if it initially takes up the same amount of space – 100 metres is 100 metres after all."
The packaging is a big brother to Nexans appreciated Cable Guy, an easy-to-handle packaging and easy to recycle as cardboard and plastic. Daniel and Aron appreciate the built-in plastic bobbin: "It is very easy to work with. It is easy to roll out and to roll back. An additional plus because the conduits does not crease, which other variants can do when pulling them out. The fact that it does not crease means that you do not have to run back and fix it".
One thing that is important for installers when it comes to pre-wired cables in conduits is the "snap" of the tube that makes it easy or difficult to get off. Daniel on the snap of N-Line: "Superb, no oddities at all, it’s at least as good as the market leaders in the field. Easy and simple".
It's time for a break and breakfast is served on the N-Line packaging: "Good bonus to get a table for free" smiles Daniel.
The conduit today is grey but they are available in different colours based on the area of use "Good concept. We mostly install data, telecommunications and alarms so it is very good to be able to distinguish them directly based on the colour of the tube."
When asked what is important to them when they work, Daniel answers: "The price determines a lot for us and our customers, but when you find something that works good and of high quality, you want to continue with that. N-Line meets these criteria and I am happy to continue working with Nexans pre-wired conduits."
Breakfast is over and we thank Daniel and Aron for today so that they can go back to work.
