Property owners and installers who work with smart solutions can save money and contribute to a reduced climate impact. A good example can be found in Norrköping.
Ever since the house at Generalsgatan 43–47 in Norrköping was built in 1963, the exterior lighting has been turned on and off by a twilight relay that controls a contactor – a system that consumed energy around the clock. Now the property is being completely renovated.
As an early measure, the installers from Bomans El & Larmtjänst had plaid pucks temporarily replace the old relay/contactor system to control the lighting outside and in the entrances. In a mobile app, Henrik Friberg Holmqvist set the light to be controlled with the astro-clock, which retrieves facts from the internet about when the sun rises and sets in Norrköping and sets the light accordingly. Thus, one of the many energy thieves in the property had been eliminated.
