NZ-El on the Advantages of Nexans N-Line in Installation Work
Oct 9, 2024From Fire to Power. NZ-El N-roll to Future Cables with N-Line.
What makes NZ-El faster than ever?
It's thanks to Nexans N-Line! It's a dream to work with. When we were installing new cables in a house in Knivsta that had burned down inside, N-Line was invaluable. Instead of wrestling with tight spaces and floppy coils, we could just set them in a corner and roll them out – easy and smooth. The boxes stayed in the same spot the whole time, they didn’t get in the way, and we didn’t have to carry the coils around. It saved us both time and energy. N-Line really makes the job more enjoyable, and you get faster results!
Fire sounds scary. Hopefully, no one was hurt?
No, fortunately, there were no injuries. We handle quite a few of these insurance jobs, and in this case, the exterior was fine, but everything inside had to be replaced. Now, the Nexans N-Line is installed beautifully and perfectly in all the walls, and we’ll be back to finish up when the rebuilding progresses later in the fall.
What would you say to a colleague who's hesitant to try N-Line?
Honestly, it's simple. N-Line has the same easy-to-work-with Nexans FQ cable that we’re used to, and it comes in a handy box that makes it much easier to manage. Other brands of pre-wired cable can be really tricky to work with, but N-Line saves time and is easy to carry in the van. Plus, you run into fewer issues on the job, which is priceless!

How do you think about cable selection?
Top quality is the priority, but of course, price can also be a factor. We have a great connection with Joel Nordgren at Ahlsell, and he got us to try N-Line on a previous project. The cable is a bit more expensive upfront, but you make up for it in time saved.
You get a crystal ball. What do you see in the future for electrical cables?
It's important that cables keep up with the technological developments happening in other markets. Having a wide range available on the shelf, so you can stick to one brand, makes things easier for us installers. It always gets more complicated when you have to mix brands with different scalability and similar factors.
Thanks for the chat, keep up the good work, and don’t play with fire.
