Privacy Policy
Nexans Sweden AB is open about what data we collect and for what purpose. Our personal data policy describes which data we collect, for what purpose, how long we save the data, how you can have control over your own data and how to contact us.
Personal Data Policy
1. GENERAL
Nexans Sweden AB is open with which personal data we collect and for which purpose. Our Personal Data Policy describes which information we collect, the purpose, how long we save the data, how you can control your personal data and how to contact us.
This policy applies in all contexts when you are in any way in contact with us. For example: visit our website, use our apps, customer meetings, fairs, events, visits to our company, etc.
This policy also applies to information to third parties. In this policy, the term personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
2. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND PROCESS
We are transparent with how we collect and process personal data. We collect the following information: Name, Company, Company Address, Phone Number, and Email. This is collected directly from you in the following context:
- You visit our website, our social media sites, email or call us for newsletters, brochures, product sheets, etc. Read more on how we process your personal data on our website under item #9
- You fill in a form on our website.
- Exhibitions. You submit your contact details in order to have post-exhibition information materials, attending a competition or signing up for customer meetings.
- Events and trainings. You sign up to attend any event or training we organize.
- Answers questionnaires or participates in surveys.
- Customer meetings or visits to our company.
- You apply for a job at Nexans. In addition to the above mentioned data, we also collect information about your work experience and educational background.
3. PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION
Personal data and visits. When conducting customer visits, your name, company, company address, telephone number, e-mail and job title are registered. In our business and CRM systems, we log email conversations, meeting memos and notes in order to provide you with a good service. For visits to our company, we register your name and company name for safety and security reasons.
4. HOW WE USE THE PERSONAL DATA
Nexans uses the personal data for the purposes stated below and for any additional purposes specified at the time of collection.
- For registration of newsletters.
- To complete orders and send updates.
- In order to maintain the right, proper and good customer service.
- In order to carry out relevant customer surveys and other surveys.
- To send customer magazine, information about our products, promotions and other relevant company information for our customer and business relations.
- To identify and recruit suitable person(s) for vacancies.
5. SUPPLIERS
We have contact with suppliers for the purpose of purchasing a product, service or support. Our agreements with suppliers contain invoice and contact information, according to agreement or legitimate interests.
6. PHOTOS AND FILM/VIDEO FOR EXTERNAL PUBLICATION
Nexans photographs and documents some of our activities. For this we use consent agreement as legal basis. This means that, before we photograph or film you, we ask for your consent and inform you about how the image may be used. By allowing us to photograph you and informing you about the purpose of using the photo or film, you agree that we use it.
7. INFORMATION SHARING
In certain circumstances, direct contractual partners of Nexans such as outsourced agencies/external partners (e.g. an event organizer acting on behalf of Nexans or any its affiliated companies) may have access to limited information necessary to contact you. At all times we will ensure that contractual partners of Nexans put in place a comparable level of data protection and we use personal data assistant agreements.
Beyond the above, no personal data information will be shared with third parties. We do not sell or transfer your personally identifying information to other companies or individuals, unless we have your consent. We may share such information in any of the following limited circumstances:
• We have your expressed consent.
• We provide such information to trusted businesses or persons for the sole purpose of processing your request on our behalf in compliance with this Privacy Policy and appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
• We conclude that we are required by law.
• We may store and process personal data collected on our site in any country in which Nexans or our hosting providers maintain facilities. When third country transfers of your personal data among these facilities are carried out, we take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal data is adequately protected. We will ensure that at least one of the following conditions are fulfilled in relation to each of those transfers:
- the receiving country ensures an adequate level of protection;
- an agreement including certain standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission - (EU) 2021/914 - have been entered into between us and the recipient, without any conflicting changes or amendments, and if necessary - with supplementary security measures taken; or
- the recipient has adopted binding corporate rules for the processing which have been approved by the relevant supervisory authority and the recipient of the personal data in the third country is bound by these rules.
By contacting us through the contact details below, you have the right to obtain a copy of the safeguards used when transferring personal data to a third country.
- We may share aggregated information with others which do not include any personally identifying information.
8 . INFORMATION SECURITY
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. We restrict access to your personally identifying information to Nexans employees who need to know that information in order to fulfill your request or supply our services.
9. DATA COLLECTION ON OUR WEB SITE
Browsing of our web sites and most other services do not require any personally identifying information. In certain sections of the site, in order to provide you with products or services that may be of interest, you may be invited to provide 'personal' information that identifies you that is to say your first name, last name, e-mail address, or other contact information that you may voluntarily submit to us : job title, function, country, language preference, business phone, mobile phone, fax number, fields of interest, company name, company type, postal address of the company, number of employees. Visitors of the site can choose not to enter any personal information.
Nexans may collect limited non-personally identifying information your browser makes available whenever you visit a website. This log information includes your Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your query and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. We use this information to better understand user behavior and to further improve our offering. When we require personally identifying information, we will inform you about the types of information we collect and how we use it.
We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing your personal information with us. It is then up to you to decide if you want to provide the information or not. Please note that, once you register on the site, your data will be stored as long as your account remains active on the site. However, if Nexans does not witness any activity over a period of 24 months, it gets classified as inactive account and your data will be anonymized.
Use and disclosure of personal data
Data available to Nexans will be used for the purpose of the technical administration of our website, responding to your direct enquiries and may also be used to provide you with additional information related to content viewed online. You will be able to unsubscribe to marketing communications at any stage. All marketing emails will include unsubscribe links or you can request this at any time by sending an e-mail to ccc.se@nexans.com
10. LEGAL BASIS AND STORAGE
By submitting data to Nexans, you give your permission for Nexans to register and store your personal data for the purpose specified. As a legal basis, Nexans will refer to contract, legitimate interests and consent. You can revoke the consent at any time by contacting us, see item 13 for contact details.
The company stores personal data as long as you are a customer with us and as long as we need the information to fulfill our responsibility to you as a customer. For marketing purposes, the information is not used longer than what is needed to complete and follow up the activity, maximum 2 years. Applications and related documents in connection with the recruitment stored no longer than is necessary, max two years after which they are anonymous.

13. YOUR RIGHTS AND CONTACT INFORMATION
In accordance with Article 4(7) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation we will be prepared to address any requests made by our users related to their expanded individual rights under the GDPR:
- Right to be forgotten: you may terminate your NEXANS account at any time, in which case we will permanently delete your account and all data associated with it.
- Right to object: you may opt out of inclusion of your data in our data science projects simply by changing the Privacy Setting on your account.
- Right to rectification: you may access and update your Nexans account settings at any time to correct or complete your account information. You may also contact Nexans at personuppgift.se@nexans.com any time to access, correct, amend or delete information that we hold about you, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
- Right of portability: We will export your account data electronically upon your request. Contact us at personuppgift.se@nexans.com.
- Right of access: our privacy policy describes what data we collect and how we use it. If you have specific questions about particular data, you can contact personuppgift.se@nexans.com for further information at any time.
You also have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding our processing of your personal data.
