The journey towards a smaller carbon footprint

Nexans Sweden is environmentally certified according to ISO 14001, demonstrating that we meet concrete and recognized environmental requirements. We have also set a goal of achieving net-zero emissions from the Grimsås factory by 2026. But we aim for more. Transportation is a significant source of emissions, and the transportation to and from our Grimsås factory is no exception. These are areas that can be influenced!

The bio-based fuel HVO100 reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 80%. It is natural for us to invest in this. We have started by establishing a 'green corridor' from our factory to the wholesaler Ahlsell's central warehouse, where HVO100 is used or offset instead of fossil diesel.

Choosing locally produced goods is often a good climate choice, as it typically involves shorter transportation distances and a better energy mix in production. By 2025, 95% of what we sell in the Nordic region will be manufactured in the Nordic countries. Developing and producing cables locally ensures quality and reduces emissions from transportation and waste.
